In 2009, Autura was awarded a contract with the Baltimore County Police Department (“BCPD”) to manage its existing towing providers and to facilitate the automated dispatching of tow requests using Autura’s automated dispatch system (“ARIES/Dispatch”). Prior to Autura’s management of the towing process, the BCPD dispatched tow requests via landline phones and was unable to accurately document tow volume, response times or disposition of towed vehicles. The BCPD towing program required manual operation by multiple personnel, repetition of paperwork, and paper recording of data and manual auditing techniques. With the implementation of Autura’s systems, the BCPD has improved oversight and control while eliminating the manual and daily operations previously performed by officers
