The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) is responsible for removing illegally parked and abandoned vehicles from City streets and all vehicles towed by the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD). Since 2004, AutoReturn has provided all of the following services: dispatch technology, tow subcontractor management, customer service (phone and in-person), impound management, and disposal of unclaimed vehicles.
To make your vehicle release as quick and convenient as possible, you can either search for your vehicle online, visit our Help Center, or call customer service at 415-865-8200.
You may also visit the City and County of San Francisco Impound Facility, open 24 hours/day, 7 days a week, including all holidays at: 450 7th Street, San Francisco, CA 94103
Vehicles that are not picked up by the owner may be transferred to the long-term storage facility. The City and County of San Francisco Impound Facility for long-term vehicle storage is located at 2650 Bayshore Blvd, Daly City, CA 94014. The business hours for this facility are as follows:
- Monday – Friday: 8am-8pm
- Saturday: 8am-12pm
- Sunday: closed
This long-term vehicle storage facility does not accept vehicle release payments, you must first go to the Service Center located at 450 7th Street. Quick walk-in service is provided here. Once your transaction is complete at the 450 7th Street location, proceed to 2650 Bayshore Blvd.
